Above The Keys was founded in the Spring of 2009 at the University of Miami by six members of the University Chorale. Auditions were then held, and a ten-voice ensemble became the only A Cappella group on campus.

Above The Keys held their first concert on May 9, 2009. In November, 2009, the group auditioned for their first competition, and the group competed in the quarterfinals of the 2010 Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA’s).  Above The Keys returned to the ICCA’s on Feb. 5th, 2011 in Athens, Georgia to compete in the quarterfinals again.

The group is currently made up of 13 male voices from various majors and schools throughout the University of Miami. We rehearse at least twice a week and sing everything from barbershop, contemporary, rock, pop, hip hop, and everything in between.
